Partial solar eclipse on 2015-03-20 in
Moheda, Sweden, JO77GA.
Kjell, SM7GVF.
Measurements were performed on 144 MHz with 4x8 elements at
23 magl. The sun noise+noise to cold sky+noise is only around 2
dB on this system.
I suspect the antennas are not working properly (VSWR).
The recording started a bit late. I am afraid results could be
compromised by external noise sources and temperature drift, as
always.
Above is shown relative sun noise+noise over time. The
scale to the left is in dB, time is UTC+1. Measured with Noise
Meter program in
SSB bandwidth on a TS2000 with AGC reduced. System NF (LNA+coax)
is around 1.5 dB.
Lowest noise appeared at 10:03 UTC.
A linear voltage plot above, time is UTC. Two measurements
to cold sky (at 10:30 and 11:53) were performed.
According to this site,
http://www.astroinfo.se/articles/243/2015-03-20-stor-partiell-solfoermoerkelse-mitt-pa-dagen,
the partial eclipse
should have occurred at 09:54 UTC at my location, and the sun
should have been blocked to 81 %.
Data from
http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEgoogle/SEgoogle2001/SE2015Mar20Tgoogle.html
below show the same.
Created 2015-03-20 16:17 UTC.
Updated 2015-02-20 17:48 UTC with that I suspect the antennas
are not working properly.
